Starting point
Operations audit
A focused review of how your business runs today — tools, stock, processes, people — with a prioritised plan you can act on with or without us.
We help growing retail brands scale, tidy up operations and build the structure behind the shopfront, so the business runs well and the people in it get to do their best work.
01 Who it's for
Sound familiar?
You've built something people love. Now the business has outgrown the way it was set up: the spreadsheets, the workarounds, the one person who knows how everything fits together.
passt. works with founders and small teams in retail and ecommerce who want to grow without losing what makes them good. We come in, understand how you actually operate, and build the systems and structure that let you scale calmly.
02 About
Northcote, Melbourne
A note on the "we" across this site: passt. is a one-person practice. You deal with me directly, from the first conversation to handover.
I've spent more than 25 years in retail and ecommerce: on the shop floor, in operations, finance and sales, and leading teams. Most recently that has meant running operations for a locally made fashion brand, covering Shopify, inventory, customer experience and fulfilment. Alongside that, I help makers and small brands put structure in place without losing what makes them theirs.
Outside client work I make furniture and teach woodworking at a community workshop in Melbourne. The best structure is the one you barely notice, because it holds.
I work in English and German, and I'll tell you what I think. If you want things done properly, let's talk.
03 What we do
Four areas, one aim
Every engagement is shaped around your business, but the work tends to fall into four areas. Start with one, or bring us in across all of them.
Where the business is heading, what to sell, where and how — and what has to be true operationally to get there. Grounded in your numbers, not a template.
The engine room. Inventory, fulfilment, reporting and the day-to-day processes that decide whether growth feels exciting or exhausting.
Making your stack work as one system. Set-up, clean-up and connecting the tools you already pay for — without adding more than you need.
Systems only hold when people are set up to use them. We help you structure roles, onboarding and service standards so the team can run things without you in every decision.

04 How we work
Understand · Build · Embed
That idea comes from the workshop. Force a joint and it weakens; cut it to fit and it holds on its own. We apply the same thinking to operations.
We start by listening: how the business actually runs, where the friction is, what the numbers say and where you want to be in a year.
We design the process, set up the tools and write it down. Enough structure to hold, and no more.
We train the team, stay close through the first weeks and adjust what needs it. It has to work when we're not in the room.
What we hold ourselves to
We do what we say, when we said we would. Clear scope, honest timelines and no surprises.
Done properly, or not at all. We take the time to understand the grain of your business before we cut anything.
For the people using the system: your team, your customers and you. Good systems meet people where they are.
05 Kind words
From people we've worked with
“Sascha sorted out the parts of the business we never had time for. Shopify, stock, orders going out, customers getting answered. It all just runs better now, and we can get on with making clothes.”
“During Sascha's time with us the business more than doubled its revenue. He brought structure to the store, got the team working with the new systems, and kept customers at the centre of it all.”
06 Working together
Three ways to start
Starting point
A focused review of how your business runs today — tools, stock, processes, people — with a prioritised plan you can act on with or without us.
Most common
A defined piece of work with a clear outcome: a Shopify or Lightspeed set-up, an inventory system, a Notion HQ, a fulfilment workflow, a team structure.
Ongoing
A steady hand alongside you as the business grows. Regular sessions, a direct line for questions, and someone who knows your operation inside out.
07 Let's talk
Usually replies within one business day
Or what you'd like to build next. A short note is plenty — I'll come back with a few thoughts and, if it makes sense, a time to talk. No pitch, no pressure.
